Unfortunately, I was absent from Day 13 and 14. However, Devki informed me of an assignment that Al wanted us all to participate in. It is three simple questions with complex answers.
How will I improve my performance?
How will I improve connections within the tier?
How will I improve support of my Lead Interns?
I will be simple and start with number one. These questions take quite a bit of thought. In general, I think all people consider their performance to be great. But it takes a lot to step back and truly reflect on yourself. I think that I will improve my performance simply by taking more detailed notes during lectures. This allows me to greater reflect on all aspects of my day when I sit down to write my wix. Having that greater reflection will allow me to reflect even more throughout the tier. I will be able to look back at these posts and reuse that information continually. This will allow me to grow from the presentations to prepare myself for later opportunities. Taking greater notes will also keep my very focused and centered during discussions which creates a better image of myself to the presenters as well as a greater reflection of who I am as part of the tier.
Number two is difficult for me. I feel like I have done my best to make as many connections as I can. However, there are always people who I don't click with and that can be difficult for me. I think the best way for me to improve connections within the tier is just by trying to make it to as many things as I possibly can outside of the tier. There are many things that I am not invited to by the other MedExers, but I am always welcome to the humpday hangouts, and I have been trying to find ways to make it to those. I live kind of far so sometimes it is hard to get back up here for them, but I think it is my best shot at making more connections. I know it is difficult sometimes for me to come out of my shell and be the first one to talk, but it is something I need to do in order to make the connections I have not yet made.
Number three is very straight forward for me. I think the best way to improve support for my Lead Interns is by making their job as easy as possible. I need to do everything on time and not be the cause of any issues during the day. Staying away from distractions during lectures and just taking good notes is a great way to improve that support. Behaving in the most professional manor I can reflects upon them. It is easier on them when their students are a positive reflection. Keeping my wix's turned in on time and making sure I am a good student is the best way I can support them. And I think that I can improve support for them simply by not letting myself slump now that we are getting later into the tier. I need to take better notes during lectures to keep myself focused and those notes will go on to help me write better wix's. Overall, these things will be a better reflection on them.
I think that these were very important questions and a great reflection to have at this point during the tier.
