Day Five - "Beans on Toast"

Today was a lot of fun. We started the day with a "survival guide" for college. Jada presented it and she made some amazing points that I plan to implement in the coming semester. Specifically, I will try to meet with my advisor more often to discuss more than just my class schedule.

After this presentation, we had a professor come in to talk to us about medical ethics and discuss our "Great Collaborator" presentations. Medical ethics is something I find very fascinating. Dr. Epright talked to us about many ethics dilemmas and I must admit she has me completely hooked into her discussion. It was one of the most interesting lectures so far. Her discussion of actual ethics dilemmas she has faced truly brought the topic into fruition and made it real. It is a subject that I would love to hear more about and possibly explore in greater detail. Ethical dilemmas are more than just a game you play between friends and Dr. Epright truly caught my interest about the true implementation of medical ethics.

Devki gave an interesting presentation today about why you should eat beans on toast. I know that the presentation was meant to be funny, but it ended up being a really interesting opportunity to discuss cultural differences. Differences between countries and continents is extremely fascinating to me. A lot of things were simple, such as word choice, but there were a lot of foods and items that were only found in England or only found in America. Overall, it was very intriguing.
